How to Apply
Follow the steps below to apply for an assistive electronic device through the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program:
Step 1: Determine Eligibility
To be eligible for a voucher, you must:

Be at least five years old.

Live in the Texas
-
Have one (1) of the following disabilities:

Deaf
-
Blind
-
Hard of Hearing
-
Visually Impaired
-
Speech Impaired
-
Upper Mobility Impaired

Step 4: Choose a Device

Step 2: Complete the STAP Application

Step 3: Proof of Residency
Applicants must Include a copy of one of the following:

Texas Driver License

Voter Registration Card
-
Utility Bill
-
Vehicle Registration Card
-
ID Card with address
-
Letter on the official letterhead of a residential facility signed by the facility director or supervisor
*Document must be current and dated within three months of the date the application is received
